Female Friendship Coaching

Look. The female friendship landscape can be complicated. For the same reasons we thrive in connection—our depth, care, nuance, sensitivity, compassion, complexity—our friendships can get messy and more vulnerable. When in balance, women’s friendships are rich, gratifying, life-giving. When out of balance, it can feel deeply destabilizing.

This is not drama. This is biology.

Women are wired for connection. But so many feel disconnected, lonely, isolated, without the friendships they crave—and like they’re doing something wrong because of it. Or they’re stuck in a challenge they can’t seem to find their way out of.

They start to wonder: What am I doing wrong? Why does this feel so hard for me when it seems so easy for other people?

There are so many reasons people struggle here — why they may find themselves Googling, “Is friendship coaching a thing?”

There are those who have moved to a new city or gone through a life transition and find themselves overwhelmed, facing the prospect of starting over. There are those who have plenty of friendships that look good on the outside—but feel hollow and lacking in depth. Those who get stuck in the friendly acquaintance phase. Those who are stuck ruminating about a conflict or a perceived slight. Those who have experienced loss or are considering ending a friendship.

If any of these are you, or you’re struggling in another way, there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re running into something real.

I’m a Certified Women’s Relational Health Coach (Women’s Relational Health Institute, 2025), with advanced training in how women build, maintain, and navigate conflict in friendship.

I help women:

  • Initiate new friendships with confidence

  • Deepen relationships beyond surface level

  • Navigate relational ruptures and painful endings

  • Build grounded, sustainable community

Because friendship isn’t luck—it’s a skill most of us were never taught. And it takes courage.
In a culture where loneliness is rampant and real connection can be hard to find, this work matters.

The women I work with are caring, conscientious, and deeply value community and meaningful relationships. But they struggle with patterns that quietly take over in the moments that matter—hesitating, overthinking, pulling back, and getting caught in the silent dramas of their own minds.

I help you interrupt those patterns and do something different in real time—so you can get out of your head and build the kind of friendships you’ve been craving.

  • "I reached out because I was feeling lonely despite my existing friendships and unsure how to build new ones.

Within a few sessions with Kate, I had reconnected with old friends and started making progress with new ones. There was a noticeable shift in my effort and intention, and I saw immediate results, which was encouraging.

Talking to Kate is much like talking to a friend. She is warm, and her clarifying questions and observations helped me see things from a different perspective and build confidence in how I approach friendships. I was genuinely surprised by how quickly I started to feel better and more hopeful.

The experience felt like gentle reflection that led to meaningful reconnection.”

Therapy vs. Coaching

While both therapy and coaching support growth, they serve different purposes and operate under different guidelines.

Therapy is mental health treatment. It may include diagnosing and treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychological concerns. As a licensed therapist, I provide therapy to clients located in the state of Maine.

Coachingis not therapy. It does not involve diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions. Coaching is present- and future-focused, designed to clarify goals, shift patterns, and create intentional forward movement.

Because coaching is not clinical treatment, it is not restricted by state licensure laws. I work with coaching clients nationwide.

Therapy addresses wounds and supports healing. Coaching supports expansion and builds momentum.

If you’re unsure which path is appropriate, I’m happy to help you determine the right fit.
