EMDR Intensive Sessions
Feel better faster.
Accelerate your progress with EMDR Intensive Therapy.
Ready to Do the Deep Work?
You’re no stranger to therapy. You’ve done the talking, built insight, practiced skills, and reflected on your patterns—yet still feel stuck in familiar emotional loops and triggers.
You’re ready for something to shift at a deeper level. Not just managing symptoms or coping better, but changing the patterns that keep repeating. You want more ease in your body, a quieter mind, more trust in yourself, and the capacity to feel more connected, present, and alive in your life.
Intensive EMDR work creates space to go beyond cognitive insight and into the patterns held in the nervous system. We work directly with the parts of you that are caught in protective or painful cycles, using approaches that support integration, regulation, and lasting change.
This work can be intense. And it is also rich, often deeply healing, and transformative.
EMDR intensives involve extended sessions over a condensed timeframe. While EMDR is the primary approach, I integrate additional methods—including parts work, somatic interventions, cognitive strategies, and the Flash Technique—as needed to support your process.
EMDR intensives may be a good fit for you if you…
have been in therapy or on a healing journey and still feel stuck
are functioning well on the surface but struggling underneath
have done meaningful work, but feel thrown off by a recent trauma or trigger
notice patterns or blocks you can’t seem to shift
are neurodivergent (formally diagnosed or self-identified) and navigating the impact of living in environments that haven’t fully supported or understood you
are a parent—or hope to be—and want to interrupt intergenerational patterns or feel less reactive in those relationships
are a healer, helper, or high-functioning professional seeking your own deeper work
feel stuck in a relationship that isn’t right, but have difficulty making a change
want to strengthen how you show up in your relationships, work, or areas of passion
Benefits of EMDR Intensive Therapy
Efficient Healing
EMDR Intensives reduce the stop-and-start rhythm of weekly therapy. Instead of spending time reorienting each session, we stay with the work—allowing for deeper processing, stronger momentum, and more meaningful progress in less time.
Save Time and Money
While intensives require a larger upfront investment, they often reduce the overall treatment time. Less time in therapy can mean a lower total cost—financial, emotional, and in terms of time and energy.
Easier on Your Schedule
For many people, weekly therapy doesn’t fit easily into the demands of life—work, family, and everything in between. Scheduling longer sessions over consecutive days lets you focus your time away, so you can get the work done and move forward.
Intensives reduce the ongoing burden of scheduling, commuting, and context-switching, allowing you to focus your energy in a defined window rather than stretching it across months or years.
Faster Relief
Research and clinical experience both support this approach: concentrated EMDR can significantly reduce symptoms in a shorter timeframe, and reduce dropout rate in trauma therapy. Instead of waiting months to feel a shift, many people begin noticing real changes within days.
Make it a Therapeutic Getaway
You don’t have to be local. Many clients travel for intensives, using the experience as a chance to step away from their usual environment and focus fully on themselves. It can function as a purposeful reset—time away from the demands of your life in lovely, seaside Portland, Maine.
Ways We Can Work Together
Retreat-style intensives involve 3–5 hour sessions scheduled across one or multiple weeks, depending on your goals and availability. Many clients begin with a series of three to four sessions.
This is a focused, immersive approach to trauma treatment designed to create meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.
Each intensive is individually tailored and includes:
Initial 90-minute intake session to gather history, ensure fit for EMDR intensive work, and develop a personalized treatment plan
One or more extended intensive sessions focused on processing and therapeutic work
Post-treatment integration session to support reflection and consolidation of gains
This format allows for deeper, uninterrupted work than traditional weekly therapy, creating space for meaningful progress in a condensed timeframe.
Packages begin at $1,475 (7.5 hours).
A 25% deposit is required to reserve your retreat-style intensive. This deposit is applied toward your total fee and holds dedicated clinical time for your work. Because this time is set aside specifically for you, the deposit is non-refundable.
One monthly half-day (3-hour) session. Well-suited for those working alongside a primary therapist or navigating a fuller schedule.
Many clients start with a foundational 3 or 4-day intensive, then transition into this format to continue and deepen their work over time.
$600 per 3-hour session
90-minute sessions each week or every other week. A more gradual, structured approach to intensive work—ideal if you want steady progress without the intensity of full-day sessions.
Many clients begin with a 3 or 4-day intensive and then shift into this option to keep the work going at a more sustainable pace.
90-minute sessions: $260
Frequently Asked Questions

The length of our work together varies depending on your goals, history, and capacity. The nature of what you’re working through also plays a role. Single-incident trauma can sometimes be addressed in a shorter intensive (1-2 sessions), while more complex or relational trauma typically benefits from a more gradual, extended process.
If intensive work is a good fit, I often recommend starting with a foundational 3 or 4-day intensive and then reassessing together based on your progress and needs.
During your consultation, I’ll offer a more personalized recommendation based on what you’re looking for and what you share about your history.

EMDR intensives can be a powerful and effective approach, but they aren’t the right fit for everyone. In some cases, a more gradual, ongoing therapeutic relationship offers a safer and more supportive foundation.
At this time, EMDR intensives may not be appropriate for individuals who are currently experiencing:
Recent psychiatric hospitalization (within the past 12 months)
Active thoughts of harming themselves or others
Ongoing self-harm behaviors
Active substance use or addiction that is not yet stabilized
Significant dissociation that would interfere with intensive work
In addition, some individuals—particularly those with more complex or longstanding trauma histories—may benefit from establishing a strong foundation in ongoing therapy before engaging in intensive work. If EMDR intensives aren’t the right fit at this time, I’ll work with you to identify next steps or alternative support that best meets your needs.
In certain cases, participation in EMDR intensives may require coordination with an established primary therapist to ensure appropriate support and continuity of care.

Yes! Intensive work pairs well with ongoing therapy, and I’m happy to collaborate with your primary therapist to support your progress. Many clients come to EMDR alongside or following their work in talk therapy.

Yes! While in-person sessions for intensive work is preferable, I also offer sessions remotely for those who prefer or live out of town.

No! One of the lovely things about intensive work is that it can be done over the course of several days, rather that on an ongoing weekly basis for months or years. Clients are invited to travel to Maine for several days for a retreat style Intensive experience of your own design. This allows you to remove yourself from the daily responsibilities and distractions of your daily life so you can focus on your healing without distraction.
